The Town of Union, New York is now accepting applications for the CDBG-CV funded Emergency Non-Profit Assistance Program. Applications are due by 4:00 PM on November 23rd, 2020. The program will provide direct rent/mortgage, gas/electric, and limited overhead assistance for Non-Profit organizations in the Town of Union impacted by COVID-19. For further information, please contact the Town of Union Planning Department at 786-2985.
Applicants should submit the following: 1) Program application; 2) Release of Information Form; 3) Duplication of Benefits Affidavit. The Town of Union, New York is now accepting applications for CDBG-CV funded Emergency Rent and Utility and Emergency Mortgage and Utility programs. If you reside in the Town of Union and have involuntarily lost earned income due to COVID-19 and need rental/utility or mortgage/utiltiy assistance, please read the program guidelines below and call 2-1-1 to begin the pre-screening process.

The Town of Union, New York has prepared final draft plans for the 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan and FFY 2020 Annual Action Plan. A public hearing will be held to solicit comments on the final draft plans on October 21st, 2020 at 7:00 in the second floor Board room at 3111. E. Main Street, Endwell NY, 13760 and via ZOOM video conferencing. Please view the public notices section for futher information on attendance. Thank you to everyone who participated in the Needs Assessment Survey for the Town of Union Consolidated Plan covering Federal Fiscal Years (FFY) 2020-2024 for it's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. The answers you provided have help shaped the priority needs for the next five years of CDBG spending for the town!
CDBG-CV CARES Act Substantial Amendment
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has notified the Town of Union that it will receive an allocation of $753,358 in CDBG-CV funds to be used to prevent, prepare for, and respond to COVID-19. This allocation was authorized by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), Public Law 116-136, which was signed into law on March 27, 2020.
The Town of Union approved a Substantial Amendment to the FFY 2019 Annual Action Plan for the CDBG program on August 5th, 2020. The Substantial Amendment is to make available CDBG-CV funding under the CARES Act to prevent, prepare for, and respond the pandemic.
In accordance with federal regulations governing the use of CDBG funds, public input is being solicited, ending on August 5th, 2020.
