You will need to call for an appointment to schedule your license & or ceremony. Please call 607-786-2900 option 8

• There is a 24 hour waiting period from the time you apply for the license until you may be married.
• License is valid for 60 days, beginning the day after it is issued.
• If both applicants are 18 years of age or older, no consents are required.
• Please note that effective July 20, 2017, a person under the age of seventeen (17) is prohibited to marry.  Any person between the ages of seventeen (17) and eighteen (18) must have approval from legal guardians and written approval from a judge in the jurisdiction in which the application is obtained.

• Must present two forms of ID:School/Work ID with photo.
• All previous divorce papers.
• Need one of the following-Birth Certificate or Naturalization record 
• Fee $40.00

The fee for a marriage license is $40.00 and is payable immediately when the license is issued. NO REFUNDS will be given once the license is issued. This fee includes the issuance of a Certificate of Marriage Registration. This certificate is automatically mailed by the issuing Clerk within 5 days after the completed license is returned by the marriage officiant (person who performs the marriage ceremony). The certificate serves as notice that a record of the marriage is on file. Couples who do not receive a Certificate of Marriage Registration within four weeks of the wedding should contact the City or Town Clerk who has issued the license.

Marriage Ceremony

• Marriage ceremonies can be preformed in the Town Clerk's Office for a $50.00 fee.
• Marriage ceremonies outside the Town Clerk's Office for a $75.00 fee. 
• In Office Ceremonies are not currently available.
