pdf Please Watch for Door-to-Door Electricity Sales Scams
Please Beware: Several companies are trying to trick residents into signing up for electricity with them. THIS IS A SCAM. The Town of Union and our partners are NOT going door-to-door selling electricity, nor calling people at home. These companies are unscrupulous, and are misrepresenting their relationship with the Town.
The Town partnered with MEGA (Municipal Electric and Gas Alliance) on Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) and through a competitive selection process is offering electric supply from Constellation. If you receive a phone call, a door-to-door sale or an additional letter in the mail it is NOT the CCA Program selected by the Town.
The Town and our partners worked together through the CCA Program to carefully select an option for you that is free from escalating prices, high termination fees and aggressive sales tactics. Please call the Town or MEGA at 518-533-5399 if you have any questions.
If you feel that an energy services company has scammed you or to report a company that tried to scam you contact the New York State Public Service Commission via their Competitive Energy Hotline for complaints about Energy Service Companies: 1-888-697-7728 (8:30 am – 4pm)
IMPORTANT: Never give your electricity account number to a door-to-door or telephone solicitor

The Town of Union's Clerk office is selling E-Zpass. Stop in today and get yours!
Transportation authorities are turning to cashless tolling to reduce congestion, improve safety and reduce air pollution. More than 35 bridges, tunnels and toll roads across the nation use cashless tolling, including all MTA tunnels and bridges.
If you have E-ZPass, your toll is collected using the same process that you are already familiar with. If you don't have E-ZPass sign-up here to start saving time and money today. E-ZPass is accepted in 16 states across the Northeast and Midwest . Prepaid E-ZPass accounts can be purchased without waiting in line at select retail locations.
Motorists without E-ZPass using the New York State Thruway cashless tolling system can pay their toll bill a variety of ways. After a motorist travels through a cashless facility, an image is captured of the license plate. Using the address on file with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), a toll bill is mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle. Motorists are required by law to keep their address current with the Department of Motor Vehicles to ensure bills are mailed to the proper owner. Drivers must update their address with the DMV within 10 days of moving.
Motorists can avoid fines or possible registration suspension by paying their toll bills on time.
Toll bills are sent to the registered owner of the vehicle to the address on file with DMV. Motorists are required by state law to keep their address current with DMV to ensure bills are mailed to the proper owner.
If a motorist’s address is not current with DMV and they do not receive a toll bill in the mail, they are still responsible for paying their toll through another payment option.
There are various payments options available for motorists to pay their toll bill.
Online/Phone
If a motorist prefers to pay the toll before they receive the toll bill in the mail, they can visit tollsbymailny.com and choose “Pay Toll,” then select the option to search and pay for tolls by license plate. Drivers from the United States and Canada can select their Country and State/Province from the drop-down menu and proceed to pay. Toll transactions will be available approximately one week from the date of travel.
Motorists can also get more information by calling the Tolls by Mail customer service center at 1-844-826-8400, select language and then press 9 to speak to a representative.
A bill is mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle 30-40 days after traveling through the cashless facility. It is also important to check email accounts for a toll bill, in case an email was previously provided.
