The Broome County Environmental Management Council (EMC) in cooperation with the Broome-Tioga Stormwater Coalition once again invites community groups, organizations and individuals to participate in the annual Broome County Riverbank Cleanup.

The Broome County Riverbank Cleanup is your opportunity to help keep our waterways beautiful. Over the years volunteers have helped collect several tons of trash and debris from County waterways.

The 33^rd Riverbank Cleanup will be held on Saturday, October 5^th, 2017 from 9:00 am – Noon. Participants must preregister by September 30^th. The EMC will provide your group with supplies as available, arrange to have your trash picked up, and help you to select a location.

On the website you can also find a link to a map of cleanup sites. Please Beware: Several companies are trying to trick residents into signing up for electricity with them. THIS IS A SCAM. The Town of Union and our partners are NOT going door-to-door selling electricity, nor calling people at home. These companies are unscrupulous, and are misrepresenting their relationship with the Town.

The Town partnered with MEGA (Municipal Electric and Gas Alliance) on Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) and through a competitive selection process is offering electric supply from Constellation.  If you receive a phone call, a door-to-door sale or an additional letter in the mail it is NOT the CCA Program selected by the Town.

The Town and our partners worked together through the CCA Program to carefully select an option for you that is free from escalating prices, high termination fees and aggressive sales tactics.  Please call the Town or MEGA at 518-533-5399 if you have any questions.
